# Statistics

> The cards, the charts and the per-user table, what the corporate and non-corporate views contain, and how to read the numbers without over-reading them.

**Statistics** is the analysis page: totals and rankings for a date range, a group, or one person.

## Filters

| Filter            | What it does                                                                                    |
| ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Date Range**    | A preset, or a From and To pair. Changing it reloads the page.                                  |
| **Group**         | Narrows to one group and everything beneath it.                                                 |
| **Activity Type** | **Corporate** (named rows), **Non-Corporate** (anonymised rows), or **All**. See below.         |
| **User**          | One person, or **Everyone**.                                                                    |
| **Timezone**      | The timezone the day boundaries are computed in. Defaults to the organisation's.                |
| **Category**      | Applications only, websites only, or both.                                                      |
| **Hide Browsers** | Leaves the browser processes out so the websites inside them stand on their own. On by default. |

<Warning>Leave **Hide Browsers** on unless you have a reason not to. With it off, Google Chrome appears as one large application entry **and** the individual sites appear underneath it, so the same time is visible twice in one list. Nothing is double counted in the totals, but the ranking becomes very hard to read.</Warning>

## The four cards

All four are per active user, not team totals. The count in brackets is how many people that average is over.

| Card                 | Meaning                                                                                                            |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Avg active time**  | Time an application was in the foreground and the person was using it. The closest thing to a working-time figure. |
| **Avg meeting time** | Time detected as a call or meeting. Also included in active time, not additional to it.                            |
| **Avg total time**   | Active time plus time an application was on screen without being used. Always the largest.                         |
| **Active users**     | People who reported anything in the period.                                                                        |

<Info>Read **Active users** first. An average over 7 people when the team has 12 is a different number from an average over 12, and the page does not warn you.</Info>

## Charts and the table

**Time Analysis** ranks applications and websites by active time, with on-screen time shown behind it, so a passive window on a second monitor is visible as the gap between the two bars. **Time Distribution** is the same data as a share of the total, switchable between Total, Active and Meeting.

Below them, a per-user table breaks the same period down by person.

## Corporate and non-corporate

This is the filter people misread most often, so it is worth being precise.

* **Corporate** shows the rows that carry a username: work applications and the sites on your corporate list. You can filter these to one person.
* **Non-Corporate** shows the rows that do not carry a username, because the application or site is not on the corporate list. They are grouped by team instead, so you can see how much time a team spent off work targets without seeing who.
* **All** adds the two together.

The split is decided on the machine before the row is uploaded, not by this filter. Choosing Non-Corporate does not reveal names, because those rows have never had one. See [Corporate and non-corporate targets](/concepts/corporate-targets).

## Exporting

The CSV export gives you the applications and websites table for the current filters. For raw per-session rows across a longer period, use [Data export](/admin/data-export) instead.

## Reading it fairly

* A softphone that ReclaimTime does not recognise as a meeting counts as active time in that application, not as meeting time. A team that lives on the phone will look different from one that lives in Teams.
* Time is not output. Two people on the same queue can differ by a factor of two on case complexity alone.
* A short period exaggerates everything. One person's day off moves a weekly average noticeably in a team of eight.
