# System requirements

> What the ReclaimTime desktop client runs on, what the dashboard needs, and which platforms are not supported.

## Desktop client

|                      | Requirement                                                                                                                                        |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Operating system** | Windows 10 or later, 64-bit                                                                                                                        |
| **Architecture**     | x64. There is no ARM64 build.                                                                                                                      |
| **Disk space**       | About 165 MB installed                                                                                                                             |
| **Display**          | 1000 x 600 or larger                                                                                                                               |
| **Privileges** | Local administrator for the standard installer. The non-admin installer needs none. |
| **Network** | Outbound HTTPS on port 443 to the hosts on the [allow-list page](/it/domains-and-urls). No inbound connections and no fixed IP address are needed. |

The client is signed as **FocusMe (Reclaim Time Ltd)**. That is the publisher name Windows shows during installation and the name to expect in an application allow-list.

### Not supported today

<Warning>
  **macOS and Linux.** ReclaimTime is a Windows product. The underlying codebase builds for macOS and Linux, but no ReclaimTime build is produced, tested or shipped for either. If a rollout needs one, raise it before committing to a date.

  **Citrix, RDS and other shared desktops.** The client has never been validated in a published-desktop or published-application environment. It may work, and we would like to test it with a customer who has one, but nothing here should be read as support for it.
</Warning>

## Dashboard

The dashboard is a web application. Nothing is installed.

|             | Requirement                                                                              |
| ----------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Browser** | A current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari |
| **Screen** | Usable from 1280 wide. The default top navigation layout is designed for laptop screens. |
| **Access** | Your organisation's dashboard address, reachable over HTTPS |
| **Account** | Supervisor or higher. A standard user account cannot sign in. |

## What each part talks to

| From             | To                                            | Why                                                                          |
| ---------------- | --------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Desktop client | The ReclaimTime backend for your organisation | Sign in, fetch organisation settings and the corporate list, upload activity |
| Desktop client | `reclaimtime.com` and the installer host | Check the current version, download an update |
| Browser | Your dashboard address | Everything a supervisor or administrator does |
| Dashboard server | The ReclaimTime backend | Reads and writes accounts, groups, settings and activity |

The exact hostnames, and which of them your organisation needs opened, are on [Domains and URLs to allow-list](/it/domains-and-urls).
